Bud was born on June 12, 1934, in Flint, Michigan, to Louis and Philomena (Siefker) Sefernick. He completed his education at Sacred Heart Catholic High School, graduating with the class of 1954. In high school he met the love of his life, Marilyn Janice Ward, and they were united in marriage on December 27, 1954 in Flint. Bud proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 until his Honorable Discharge in 1956. His dedication to his country demonstrated his selflessness and courage. Bud also worked in production, and as a sanitary engineer, for GM-Buick Motor Division for thirty years before his retirement in 1990.
Bud's kindhearted nature and wonderful sense of humor endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He approached life with a positive outlook and always found joy in bringing laughter to everyone. Above all else, Bud loved and cherished spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's academic and sporting events. He was an avid bowler, did many charitable walks, but fishing held a special place in his heart. He particularly enjoyed bonding with his son Andy, and close friend Ed, during fishing trips.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Stephen) Carwile, Sally Wenk and Nancy Tomczyk; grandchildren, Amy Tomczyk, Karyn (Brandon) Nankervis, David Carwile, Jeremy Wenk, Joseph Tomczyk, Melissa Sefernick and Brian Sefernick; great-grandchildren, Haley, Jackson, Taylor, and Sadie; sister, Rita Robison, sister-in-law, Ruth (Michael) Goergen; and many special nieces and nephews. He loved us all dearly.
Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn; son, Andrew; parents Louis and Philomena; and four brothers and two sisters.
Bud's daughters are inviting everyone to join us in our celebration by bringing a funny story you have about our Dad ~ and you KNOW you have one! If you are unable to attend, we would be grateful if you would share your memories, pictures and tributes at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
The world was a better place with him in it!
