Bernie Castanier began his peace March on Wednesday, July 7th, 1948. His march ended on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, in his home in Houghton Lake, MI. A celebration of Bernie's life will be held from noon until 5pm ET on Sunday, October 12th at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home in Gladwin, MI.
Bernie leaves behind his sister Maryanne, his brother Duane, his sons Adam and Kasey, his daughter-in-law Camila, and his grand-gremlin Gabriel, as well as countless writings and recipes that blessed the lives of many. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Don't worry, Dad. We'll keep cheering on the Tigers for you, regardless of how big they slip up.
Services Sunday October 12, 2025 at 5 pm Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin with visitation at funeral home from 12 to time of services.
