Bernard "Bernie" Earl Davenport, age 90, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away March 26, 2026.

Bernard was born on August 31,1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Earl and Mildred (Patterson) Davenport. He was a member of Steel Workers Union Local #13, and employed at Armco/G.S.T. Steel Corporations in Kansas City, Missouri, for 41 years. He was a 1952 graduate of De La Salle Military Academy and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, Missouri, and a member of American Legion Zack Wheat Post #624, serving with the Color Honor Guard.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Gregory G. and Guy B. Davenport. Bernard is survived by grandsons, Guy, Paul and Peter, great-grandchildren, Jack, Collin, Gillian, Houston, Beckham, Harper, and Pierce, longtime companion Norma Jean (Jeannie) Bruce, of the home, and longtime special friends, Christel (Ken) Mullins, Nancy Sooter and Ed Wehling.

Bernie was an extremely kind and caring man, who went far above the call of duty as a friend, and will be greatly missed, and remembered lovingly by all who knew him.

Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31st, at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 722 Highway O, Gravois Mills, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions be made to the Little Sisters of The Poor, 8745 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64138.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
