Bernard Dall Deweese, III, passed away August 29, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Bernard Dall Deweese, Jr and Alice Bryce Fulbright. Dall would get his college degree in 1966 at Memphis State (now University of Memphis), working his way through with employment at a medical facility. He went on to serve as a staff sergeant and as a medic in the Air Force making trips to Vietnam to return injured soldiers back to the US. Dall’s lifelong career would be at the Cadillac division of General Motors serving at US locations around the country as a District Manager and settling In Baton Rouge before retiring. In 1998, Dall met Marilyn Hersey, who had relocated from Fairfield, CT, to serve as Executive Director for Swine Palace Productions, LSU. They would marry in 2003 and enjoy the company of Dall’s daughter Paige Deweese Carnes of Jacksonville and his son Bernard Dall IV of Memphis, as well as Marilyn’s daughter, Kristin Orange Thompson and her husband William Edward Thompson of Baton Rouge, and Dall’s sisters, Diana Threadgill of Memphis and Deborah Deweese of Northern California.
Dall and Marilyn were able to travel a great deal after retirement and enjoyed three trips across the country, as well as visits to much of Eastern and Western Canada and extensive trips across Europe and the British Isles.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, beginning at 9:30 AM until services at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
