Bernard L. Dolle, known affectionately as Bernie to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 9, 1933, Bernie's journey was marked by an unwavering spirit and a joyous heart that touched everyone he met as he never met a stranger.
Bernie's life was one rich in love and laughter. He was the beloved husband of the late Gerry (nee Plant), with whom he shared Fifty-Nine years of cherished memories. A devoted father, Bernie's legacy lives on through his children, Debbie (Bob) Deel, Kim (Harry) Masse, and Mark (Cindy) Dolle. His grandchildren, Christopher (Anna), Trevor, and Matt, will fondly remember their grandpa for his endless support and the humorous tales that could light up any room. Bernie will also be remembered by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bernie served his country proudly and then dedicated 34 years of service to Western Electric. His colleagues knew him as a man who brought humor and kindness into the workplace every single day. Outside of work, Bernie was an avid bowler, achieving the perfect game on April 20, 2001, a feat he often recounted with friends and family.
Bernie's zest for life was evident in his love for fishing, woodworking and an occasional cigar on the back porch. He was known to "drop a few quarters" at the casino after enjoying a dinner of 80 or more raw oysters.
Bernie's life was a beautiful journey that touched the lives of many. As we bid him farewell, we are reminded that while our time on this earth is limited, the impact we make through our love, laughter, and kindness is eternal. Rest in peace, Bernie, and thank you for showing us the way to a life well-lived.
