Maria Ybarra Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium - Justice on Feb. 12, 2026.
Maria Guadalupe Ybarra, affectionately known to all as Lupita, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 40. Lupita was born on November 12, 1985, in Chicago, IL, and brought immense joy into the lives of her parents, Carlos N Ybarra and Maria G Renteria. She was a cherished sister to Sandra, Patty and Laura. Their bonds were unbreakable, strengthened by the love and unintentional humor she brought to every gathering.

As an Ophthalmic Technician, she enjoyed spending time with her elderly patients, exchanging words and laughter that helped lighten the day. Lupita's colleagues and patients will remember her for her dedication and the compassionate care she provided.

Lupita was known for her generosity, always happy to help and support, giving those around her far more than ever needed. She brought so much life to others through her infectious, boisterous laugh, known well by her loved ones. Her sense of humor, thoughtful gestures, and kind heart will always be remembered. She paid special attention to those around her and loved to create personalized gifts. Lupita enjoyed adding sentimental touches, making the gifts much more meaningful.

She had a love of road trips and traveling, always excited to find new places to explore. Enjoying the ride while listening to classic rock, Lupita was a meticulous planner who loved organizing the next trip, each one bringing those with her closer together. Fortunately for us, she was devoted to documenting our time together through photographs, a treasure trove left for us – countless images saved because Lupita never missed taking a picture. One of her favorite trips was to New Mexico. She adored the mountain landscape and even imagined one day living there.

In her everyday life, Lupita loved taking long drives playing Pokémon Go, a pastime she and her partner, Mike, enjoyed together. They relished their evenings out, treasuring those moments, making the most of the beautiful time they shared. Lupita and Mike spent every day together, turning the mundane into something special through loving glances.

We bid farewell to our beloved Lupita who made the world a brighter place, she will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace in the knowledge that she is truly loved and cherished.
