Bernard J. "Bernie" Ederer,

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Monday, July 21, 2025. Age 84 years. Son of the late Bernard C. and Anna (Makl) Ederer, Bernard was born August 17, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan. At SS. Peter & Paul High School he started a Polka Band called the "Melodiers". Bernie married Judith A. Chronowski, his loving wife of 58 years, on February 4, 1967, at St. Josaphat Catholic Church. After high school, he was involved in road construction and was a charter member of James Township Fire Department. Later he became a financial planner for AETNA, ING and Voya and established Condo Network. Bernie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and past member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, U of M Fan and cherished the time he got to spend with his children and grandchildren. Bernie enjoyed his Florida winter home and was the "Jack of all Trades".

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Judy; one daughter, Cheryl and Larry Martin, Dexter, Michigan; one son, David Ederer, and his fiancé Heather Essex, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Mallory and Bryce Martin; four sisters, Carol Wasielewski, Bridgeport; Sister Dorothy Ederer O.P., Lansing; Jeanne Murphy-Causley, Saginaw; Geralyn and Joe Navarre, Grand Rapids; several special nieces and nephews. Bernard was preceded in death by one sister, Julie Hancock and his brother, Rev. Fr. John Ederer.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or the St. Gerard Society.
