Bernard W. Lockard Sr.

Bernard W. Lockard, Sr., 92, of Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was born in Indiana, on February 28, 1933, to the late Wayne S. and Betty M. (Debonney) Lockard.
Bernard graduated from Indiana High School and attended IUP for Business Management. Although never deployed, Bernard proudly served our country in the United States Army at the time of the Korean War. He was a lifelong entrepreneur, and partners in multiple companies; the Tri-L Pizza Huts, Donut Services Group, and Lockard Brothers real estate and construction until his retirement in 2008. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Bernard was a member of numerous clubs and organizations around the Indiana area. He most enjoyed his times in the Boy Scouts and the Indiana Elks, where he was a proud 71-year member. He rarely missed attending the 3 o'clock club.
Surviving Bernard is his wife Sandra J. (Alsop) Lockard, children Marianne (William) Bird of Indiana; Bernard (Robyn) Lockard, Jr. of Indiana; Jane (Mike) Lockard-Clawson of Indiana; Connie (Eric) Cramer of Indiana; and Amy (Tony) Lockard-Conforto of Indiana; 13 grandchildren Laura (Matthew) Engle, Kathleen Harris, Maria (Craig) Shirley, Meghan Lockard, Bernard (Kate) Lockard III, Brendan Lockard, Maureen (JP) Starapoli, Ash Lockard, Kristin (John) Fisher, and Brendon Hurd, 13 great grandchildren and one on the way, one brother Larry G. Lockard of Indiana, fur babies Miley and Otis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bernard is preceded in death by a son, John Charles Lockard, grandson Benjamin Lockard, first wife Patricia M. Lockard, and a sister Sandra L. Lockard.
Friends will be received by the family on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 2-7 PM in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, including an Elks Funeral Ritual at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11 AM with Natalie Glaser officiating. There will be a private family burial at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Bernard to a charity of one's choice.
