Bernard "Bernie" F. Oneil, a lifelong resident of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the home of his son. Born on January 30, 1937 to Victoria and Arthur Oneil, Bernie made significant contributions to his family and country throughout his life.

Educated at Trinity High School in Manchester, Bernie maintained strong ties to his roots and contributed to the local sports culture as a dedicated umpire. His passion for sports was evident not only in his participation but also in his enthusiasm for watching various sporting events.

Bernie served honorably in the United States Navy for 5 years, demonstrating his commitment to his country. This service laid the foundation for a life defined by dedication and hard work.

He was married to his wife, Barbara, for 25 beautiful years, a union marked by love and mutual support. Bernie took pride in his seven children from his previous marriage to Jean Skeffington and cherished the joys and challenges of fatherhood. He is survived by his sons Joseph Oneil of Weare, NH; Stephen Oneil of Bangor, ME; Michael Oneil of Manchester, NH; daughters Luba Wagner of Summerfield, FL; Patricia Provost of Weare, NH; and Kathleen Santiago of Manchester, NH; and his sister Barbara. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.

Bernie was preceded in death by his son Shawn Oneil.

His lasting impact will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy of warmth and kindness will live on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
