Bernard G. Papay, age 88 of Canton passed away on January 14, 2025. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 20, 1936 to his parents, the late Helen (née Bistak) and Kalman Papay.
Bernard is the loving and devoted husband of the late Mary Ann (née Medsker) Papay; loving father of seven children – Charley Papay, Terry Papay, Patricia (Gregory) Riley, Molly Gubert and Ginger (Eric) Barringer. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Robyn Laird and son-in-law David Lawein.. He is the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Michael Papay, his daughter Sarah Lawein, and his daughter-in-law Gloria Papay.
After he earned his Associates Degree in Architecture Design, Bernard enjoyed a successful 36-year career with General Motors employed as a Draftsman Designer.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue on Monday, January 20th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth, Michigan from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.
