Bernard James Shaw, age 75, of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at CT Hospice in Branford. He is the beloved husband of 54 years of Marilyn (Mongillo) Shaw. Bernard was born in Derby on April 22, 1950, son of the late Bernard Wallace and Ethel (Murhamer) Shaw, and was a longtime Shelton resident.
He enjoyed a lifetime on the water. Bernard was the owner and President of the River's End Marina in Shelton. He was also a lifelong member of Harbor Valley Yacht Club and a member of Miamogue Yacht Club. He was an avid fisherman and loved anything that kept him out on the water.
He is the cherished father of David Shaw and Danielle Carrier and her husband, Norman Carrier, and the proud grandfather of Hunter and Zachary Carrier. Bernard is also survived by three sisters, Ellen Day, Patricia Clement, and Diana Rooney, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. His funeral service will begin in the parlor at 11:30 AM.
At the family's request, memorial contributions are encouraged to the National Kidney Foundation and the American Diabetes Association.
