George John Rumbin

George John Rumbin, age 83 of Fairhaven, MA entered into rest on Sept 29, 2025. He was born in Derby on April 28, 1942, son of the late John Rumbin, Mary (Guardiani) Rumbin Vernazza and Bruno Vernazza (step-father). George was a proud member of the US. Navy and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1962-1963 receiving the Navy Expeditionary Medal. He loved being in nature and was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his son Marco Rumbin, daughter Ursula Henry and her husband Edward, son in law Gregory Pataky, four grandchildren Celia Rumbin, Marco Rumbin, Jackson Henry and Jonathan Henry, brother Charles Vernazza and his wife Annie, nieces Amy Vernazza and her Fiance Paul, and Amanda Jackson and her husband John. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gina Pataky.
His family will be hosting a memorial service on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 10 am in the Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff St. Ansonia. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby have assisted with the arrangements.
