For over 50 years, I have had, and will continue to have, a deep relationship with the Stein family here in Tampa. Lucky Stein, my nickname for Bernie, has been the longest close friend I have had. He was a tremendous athlete and I enjoyed competing with him and against him in multiple sports. He was the "go to guy " for providing guidance to friends and even acquaintances to have medical questions answered. When he obtained new radiology equipment at Memorial Hospital, I was his "guinea pig" for completing the new equipment process. He carried me through to the club doubles Championship at Palma Ceia in 1989 after he won the singles Championship a few years before. We attended many sporting, family, golf trip and other memorable activities. He and Sharon honored me by asking me to perform the wedding service for their daughter, Lauren, and Andy Goldman. The Mitzvah that I give to Bernie is to mention his name as often as I can to keep his memory alive for as long as I am around. Love Ya, Lucky.

Sharon, I am very sorry for your loss. It has been a long time since I saw you and Bernie. Unfortunately I had lost contact with all of my friends in Tampa since I retired. Please stay in touch if you wish. Doug and Maureen informed me of his passing. Thinking of you

Larry and I have been blessed to know Bernie and Sharon for many years and we have always treasured our friendship. This photo was taken on December 28, 2002. Bernie and Larry will be together again now in some other realm.

We had the good fortune of knowing Bernie and Sharon as well as Lauren and Jeff for over 50 years. Bernie was a great father always coaching the kids and any stray child who needed help learning for many years. He was the happiest person I know and his joy spread throughout the community. All Bernie stories you will hear are of joy and happiness. We will miss him greatly.
