Bernard Tobin Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 12, 2024.
Bernard V. "Bernie" Tobin, 70, passed away May 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Bowler) Tobin. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Bernard V. and Dorothy E. (McCoy) Tobin.
Mr. Tobin was a sheetmetal welder/mechanic for 40 years at General Dynamics/Electric Boat in Quonset before retiring in 2014. He has been a Chepachet resident for 34 years and was an avid snowmobiler. He loved playing hockey and played on the Mt. St. Charles hockey team. Bernie loved the outdoors and spending time at his cabin in VT. He and Karen traveled extensively all over the world. Bernie loved all animals, especially tiny dogs and was a diehard Jets fan. More than anything, he had a great love of the Lord.
Bernie had great joy in watching his grandchildren grow and truly enjoyed being able to attend their games, plays and recitals. Each one had a very special place in his heart.
In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by his children, Timothy B. Tobin of Voluntown, CT, Michael J. DeRosa and his wife Crystal of Kingston, MA and Lee-Ann S. Lacasse and her husband Peter of Brooklyn, CT. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Dylan Lacasse, Mia DeRosa, Gage Lacasse, Zoe DeRosa and Evan Lacasse.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 5-7pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 7pm in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 will be appreciated.
