Bernard White Obituary

Bernard O. White
Bernard "Bernie" O. White, 82, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford with his loving daughters by his side. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Adrienne "Bunny" D'Addio White. Bernard was born in New Haven on December 10, 1940, and was the son of the late John and Rose (Olivieri) White; and grandson to Samuele and Elvira Olivieri. He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force. Bernard was a member of the Wallingford Rod & Gun Club and a former member of the Housatonic Fly Fishermen's Association and the Elm City Gun Club. Bernie was a successful, established and well-respected architect and estimator. His early work years were spent at Orchard Painting and Decorating, moving on to E&F Construction and then later proudly working for O&G Industries for seventeen years until his retirement. His beautiful home designs and remodeling through his own firm, Architectural Design and Drafting Services, can be all found all over Connecticut. Bernard was an avid fly fisherman, skeet shooter, golfer and bird watcher. More than anything, he loved spending time with family and friends. He never missed a Sunday dinner with his family, had perfect attendance at all birthday club dinners and Sunday breakfast with his dear friend, Fred. Each and every holiday, he would drive throughout greater New Haven to visit with extended family and friends. Bernard was the most generous and proud dad, pop and father-in-law, loving his entire family unconditionally and he will be missed more than words.
Loving father of Kim (Gordon) Nelson and Deana (David) Ebert. Beloved grandfather of Aedan, Connor, Evan, Chloe, Grace, Daniel, and William. Great-grandfather of Isiah. Cherished brother-in-law of Michele D'Addio (Keri) and Chris D'Addio and adored uncle of many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to dear neighbors, Ronnie and Mary Jane Parisi, John and Cindy Wojciechowski, for their generosity, kindness and friendship over the years. The family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Kabul Garg and his staff, Dr. Nora Segar and the team at YNHH, as well as the staff at CT Hospice for their compassionate care of Bernie and his family.
The visiting hours will be on Monday morning, September 4th from 9:30 to 11:30 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. www.northhavenfuneral.com
