Barbara Ferrigno Obituary

Barbara Ferrigno
May 14, 1935 - February 11, 2026
Barbara Ferrigno, born May 14, 1935, in New Haven, Connecticut, lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, creativity, curiosity, and generosity. She graduated from St. Mary's and went on to work for SNET, where she formed lasting friendships and built a strong work ethic she carried throughout her life.
On February 8, 1958, she married the love of her life, Rubino Ferrigno. Together, they created a wonderful family and shared a remarkable journey. Barbara had an adventurous spirit-she loved to travel and spent many years exploring the world, embracing every new experience with joy and enthusiasm.
At home, Barbara's kitchen was a place of warmth and creativity. She adored cooking and was always eager to try new recipes. She was also a talented artist who found joy in painting and drawing. In quieter moments, she loved playing cards and watching her favorite game shows, often surrounded by family.
Above all, Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her kindness, generosity, and zest for life made her beloved by all who knew her. She touched countless hearts with her gentle spirit and unwavering love.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Rubino, and her parents, Jean (Corsali) and Alfred DelVecchio. She is survived by her brother, Alfred Dell of Nevada, and her sister, Elaine Demaio of Connecticut. She leaves behind her children Cheryl Sacco (Robert), Rubino (Collette), Paul (Wendy), and John; her grandchildren Anthony, Matthew, Allie, Katilynn, and Gina; and her great-grandchildren Scarlett and Heron. Her family will forever cherish her memory and the immeasurable love she shared with each of them.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven Tuesday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church in Orange at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
