William A. Ferrigno, 73, of Avon, passed away suddenly of a heart attack, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital, with his children by his side. Born in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Quinn) Ferrigno, Bill was raised in West Hartford graduating from Conard High School, Class of 1970. He lived in the Avon area most of his life.

He had been a developer and home builder, operating Sunlight Construction for many years and built hundreds of homes. He was a past president of the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association of Connecticut, where he was Auctioneer and team captain for many of their charity fundraisers raising thousands of dollars for needy causes. He also served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army for many years where he was instrumental with the Homebuilders, in their Holiday Store Christmas event that has been one of the most important fundraisers for the Army. Bill loved playing golf, traveling, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and having coffee with friends. But most important to Bill was his unwavering Christian Faith and spending time with his family.

He leaves three sons William A. Jr. and his wife Danielle, Matthew and his wife Heather, James and his wife Jennifer, his daughter Michelle Ferrigno, his brother Joseph III, grandchildren Isabella, Charles, Addison, Ava, Emma, Vincent, Logan, and Elowyn, sister-in-law Susan Ferrigno, nieces and nephews Joey, Christina, Elizabeth, Victoria, Angela, Nicholas, Bowen, and Kathleen Reardon. He also leaves his constant companion, his dog Quinn. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Maryanne, brother Edward, and his nephew Paul.

Bill's family will receive friends Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 3-6 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, 10 AM, Directly at St. Mary Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. Wow, I have not heard his name in such a long time back in the 60s .Bill and I had spent much time behind the house he lived in off Mountain Road where he had built a small hideaway shack.. Maybe that that´s where his dream started as far as building. He was a very good friend. He will definitely be missed and to his family I wish you peace and the good memories. God bless you all.

My condolences to the Ferrigno family. I enjoyed listening to him on WTIC for many years as the Home Builders' President and liaison to the station's holiday fundraiser for the Salvation Army.
