Bernardo Ferrera, 92, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1933, in Fontechiari, Italy, to the late Domenico and Santa Ferrera.
Bernardo immigrated to the United States in 1963, where he brought his family from Italy and built a life through hard work and dedication. He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a longtime member of the Kensico Italian American Society.
He enjoyed making his own wine, watching soccer, playing scopa and bocce, and gathering with family around the table.
He was a loving husband, father, Nonno, and bisnonno. His life was one he lived with pride and purpose, leaving a legacy of love, sacrifice, and resilience.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna, and his brother, Giovanni Ferrera.
Bernardo is survived by his children, Tony and his wife Roz of Briarcliff Manor, and Grace Caso and her husband Roberto of Hawthorne; his grandchildren, Michelle (Sean), Michael (Meg), Marisa (Chris), David, Christopher (Sarina), and Analisa; his great-grandchildren, James, Mackenzie, Roma, Fiona, and Matthew; his sisters, Maria Notarantonio and Rosa Sementilli; and his many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Hudson Valley Chapter.
