Bernardo Dominique Fraioli, 65, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully Monday, November 18th, 2024, while at his home in the loving care of his children and loved ones.
Bernardo was born August 9, 1959 in Arpajon, France, the son of the late Agnesa DiCocco Fraioli and Salvatore Fraioli. He was born the first of four children. He would reminisce fondly about a childhood of playing and working on the farmland of both his family in France and extended family members in Italy. In 1972, his family moved to the United States to live with his aunt in Schenectady, NY where they later planted roots of their own. Bernardo attended Linton High School for several years, eventually graduating from Burnt Hills High School.
Bernardo would go on to live his own version of the American Dream: getting married, owning homes, raising a family, and, most rewarding of all, setting the foundation for his children and grandchildren to live out their own dreams. He was a man of many talents and acquired skills as he spent a lifetime tinkering, building, and creating. He loved his "toys" – the cars, motorcycles, and tractors that filled his garages over the years. His children and family friends often referred to him as "Big B", as his social energy and gregarious nature was unmatched. He enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their life stories, and cherished any opportunity when he could share some of his own.
In 2011, he began a journey down the east coast, eventually finding a new community in Oak Run of Ocala, Florida. In Florida, he met many cherished friends and his beloved partner JoAnn. He continued to be known for his charisma, his handyman skills and his adventurous spirit.
In addition to his parents, Bernardo is predeceased by his beloved sister, Romanina Palma (Rocky). Bernardo is survived by his three children Salvatore (Carolyn), Luciano (Katie) and Veronica Fraioli; adored grandchildren Natalie, Dominic and Leo Fraioli; his brothers Elio (Denise) and, Tonino Fraioli; his girlfriend JoAnn Shannon; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, Hospice of Marion County, and most importantly his community of friends at Oak Run for assisting and supporting him in his final weeks.
A celebration of life memorial will be held Friday, December 20th, from 5-7 PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bernardo's honor to the
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation
