Bernerd G. Miller, 100, of Germantown Hills, IL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
He was born on July 31, 1925, in Lynnville, PA, to Namann M. and Lulu (Snyder) Miller. He married Fern Earlene Walker on February 24, 1950.
Surviving are his wife, the love of his life, Fern; children, Barbara Boyd Keller of Germantown Hills, Jim (Deb) Miller of East Peoria, IL, and David (Jaylene) Miller of Metamora; grandchildren, Lynette (Troy) Boyd, Joshua (Rebecca) Miller, Jeff (Tisa) Boyd, Kim (Jeff) Boyd, Daniel (Rachel) Miller, Michelle (Brian) Currier, and Josiah (Krista) Miller; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Joseph Miller, sons-in-law Steven Boyd and Rickey Keller, and an infant brother.
Bernerd worked in machine repair for Caterpillar Tractor Company until his retirement after 31 years of service. He was a member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church in East Peoria, IL and a member of UAW Local 974. Bernerd enjoyed horseback riding during his time as a ranch hand in Covelo, California in 1948 and 1949. He loved working in his garden, was a civil war enthusiast, and deeply loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Brian Currier officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service, also on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
