Bernette King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation on Sep. 22, 2025.
Bernette King, age 83, of Coalfield, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 26, 1941, in Coalfield, Tennessee.

Bernette was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. A lifelong member of Stephens Baptist Church, she held firmly to her faith in Jesus Christ. Throughout her earthly life, she faced many health challenges with determination, grace, and a smile. She never knew how to give up, but she always knew how to show up for others. Bernette found joy in bird watching, tending to her flowers, dancing and singing, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles King; parents, Joe and Marie Adcock; brother, Paul Adcock; sisters, Mary Ruth Wright, Betty Powers, Ann Pressley, and Judy Adcock; daughter-in-law, Connie Finks; son-in-law, Jerry Crowe; and dear friend, Mark Lemons.

She is survived by her children, Ronald Finks, Stevie Finks and wife Lori, Gary Finks and wife Teresa, Larry Finks, Paula Goins and husband Don, and Tammy Crowe; brother, Roger Adcock; grandchildren, Cody Finks and wife Megan, Jennifer West and husband Adam, Brittany Ostreicher and husband David, Brian Cassel and wife Kim, Nathan Cassel and wife Joann, Aaron Finks, Mackenzie Godwin and husband Cameron, and Alex Crowe and wife Haley; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also remembered by extended family and many cherished friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Anita Phillips for her excellent care, love, and friendship.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation with a Funeral Service to follow with Brother Gary Finks officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Adcock Family Cemetery in Coalfield.
