Bernice Carter Obituary
Bernice McCraw Carter, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Ralph Clayton and Reverend Charles Carter.
Bernice was native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late Monroe and Louise Miller McCraw.
She worked at Creighton for 32 years. She was a woman of faith and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Bernice loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Robert Carter; sisters, Dorothy Martin, Geneva McCraw, Anne Mae Little, and Christine Murray.
Bernice is survived by her children, Deborah Carter Tuttle (Keith) and Robert Lee Carter (Tammy), all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ryan Tuttle of Arcadia, Florida, Jessica Carter, Christopher Carter (Ashley), Amber Carter, and Brittany Carter; great grandchildren, Bryson Hearn, Dawson Carter, Dalton Carter, Noah Carter, Bella Carter, Mason Ponder, Everleigh Ponder, and Ramzey Irving; sisters, Inez McLain and Geraldine Little, all of Reidsville.
