Bernice Gladys (Sandberg) Corsten was born on August 25, 1943 in Granite Falls, MN to Elmer and Gladys Sandberg. She was raised in Granite Falls along with her siblings, Mavis, Dorothy, James, Clara, Shirley, Keith, and Joyce. Bernice was united in marriage to Roland Charles Corsten on October 28, 1967. She was an incredible mother, who was always supportive of her children, Sean, Eric, and Neil. On top of raising a family, she also was host to fifteen exchange students. Bernice was a certified Reiki Master and instrumental in bringing Laughter Yoga to the community. Her other passions included golfing, cross country skiing, curling, ukulele, tennis, and choir at the University. But her greatest gift may have been making connections through substantive conversations. Bernice’s strong spiritual energy and intuition was felt by many throughout her family, friends, and community. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Roland; children, Sean T. Corsten, Eric C. Corsten, and Neil S. Corsten; grandchildren, Savannah Corsten, Nicholas Corsten, Tiffany Bredeck, Tarina Bredeck, Ray Corsten, Piper Corsten; great grandchildren, Mason Zimick, Ashton Zimick, Keyson Bredeck, Cameron Bredeck, and Olin Granger.

There will be a time to share laughter, love, and memories of Bernice on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Riverside Park, 100 E Sherman St., Wausau, WI 54401.
