Thomas (Tom) Evjue passed away at Stone Crest Residence in Wausau on March 5, 2026.

Tom was born on June 24, 1949, in Madison to Douglas and Arleen Ringle Evjue. He graduated from Wausau High School where he enjoyed being in the band as well as playing drums for the jazz ensemble, The Top Hatters. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison, earning a bachelor’s degree in education.

Tom spent much of his adult life in Florida where he worked as a Science and Math teacher. He had a passion for teaching and was proud of the students whose lives he touched throughout his career. While in Florida he married Stephanie Leach where they shared many years together until her passing in 2010.

Several years ago, Tom returned to Wausau to help care for his mother. During his life, he enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, working with exotic animals and spending time in nature.

He dearly loved his chihuahuas throughout the years : Chance, Spike, Tila and Stoney. He also enjoyed keeping up with the lives and accomplishments of his nieces and nephews.

Tom is survived by his sisters Lynn Cupelli of Madison and Cathy (Lynn) Taschler along with his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Stephanie, his brother Robert (Bob) Evjue and his sister- in- law, Karen (Eggebrecht) Evjue.

A private family burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
