Port Barre--A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bernice Lalonde on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Very Reverend Darren Eldridge, V.F., will celebrate the mass. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until time of mass at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. A rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Port Barre.
Bernice Lalonde, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville.
Bernice took immense pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nurturing them with affection and wisdom. Her love for her family was unwavering and she created countless memories filled with joy and laughter. She also had a profound passion for flowers, finding solace and beauty in nature.
Bernice is survived by her son, Charles Lalonde of Leonville; daughter in-law, Peggy Lalonde of Leonville; special niece and caretaker, Cheryl Leger of Port Barre; 4 grandchildren, Torrey Lalonde (Donna), Brooke Guidroz (Jared), Paxton Lalonde, and Brennan Lalonde of Leonville; 6 great-grandchildren, Kirsten Lalonde, Gracie Lalonde, Tanner Lalonde, Gabby Guidroz, Hunter Quebedeaux, and Demi Quebedeaux; and 1 great-great grandchild, Lukas Ramirez.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Ignace Lalonde; parents, Marshall Barron and Matilda Soileau Barron; brothers, Delmas Barron, Willis Barron, Lenis Barron, John Barron, and Allen Barron; sisters, Pearl Lacombe, Ethel Doucet, and Kathleen Lafleur.
Bernice’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to her loved ones will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
