Bernice Claudette LeBlanc (Melanson), 89, of Waltham, died on Friday, June 28 th at Maristhill Nursing
Home in
Waltham, MA.
Born one of nine children to the late Thadde and Geneva Melanson (LeBlanc) in Moncton, New Brunswick on March 10 th 1935.
Earlier in life, Bernice worked as a secretary while living in Montreal. Later she and her beloved Bernard LeBlanc were married on February 2 nd 1957. After the birth of their five children, Ben and Bernice moved their family to
Waltham, MA in 1968.
As a testament to her dedication and hard work, she raised five children while working for many years at Unitrode Corporation in Watertown, MA along with selling Avon products until her retirement.
Having a family of five young children, Bernice enjoyed camping and trips back to Canada to visit family.
She will be famously remembered for her many recipes, especially her Butterscotch squares which no one has been able to replicate. Always stylish, she loved shopping especially her trips to Macy's. Bernice also loved listening to oldies music, Engelbert Humperdinck was one of her favorite artists. As recently as last year she attended one of his concerts with her granddaughter Christine. During her time at Maristhill she enjoyed all the activities they offered above all, Bingo and Daily Mass.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the Staff at Maristhill for the care given to our mom especially during her last days.
Predeceased by her husband Bernard G. LeBlanc, her sisters, Gloria LeBlanc, Sylvia Clancy, Murielle DesRoches, and her brothers, Bernard Melanson and Raymond Melanson.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and loving children, Suzanne LeBlanc, Nicole LeBlanc and her wife Stacey, Camille LeBlanc and his wife Carol, Yves LeBlanc and his wife Debbie, Anne Houle and her husband Roger. In addition, Bernice was memere to seven grandchildren Christine Leone and her husband Danny, Alison Wiesenmaier and her husband Kurt, Jeffrey LeBlanc and his wife Kerri, Ronelle LeBlanc, Renee LeBlanc, Brandon Houle and his wife Jessica, and Ashley Houle. Grandmemere to six great grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Oliver, Hannah, Shane and Malia. She also leaves her sister and brothers, Claudette Richard and her husband Roger, Francis Melanson and his wife Maria and Emery Melanson and his wife Gisele.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love and memories Bernice shared with us all during visiting hours, on Tuesday, July 9th from 10 Am to 12 Pm with a Celebration of her life at 12 PM in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street, Waltham. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
