Bernice Viehmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Jan. 13, 2026.
Bernice "Berni" Viehmann went home to be in the loving arms of Jesus on December 31, 2025 after a courageous battle with Breast Cancer at the age of 63. Berni was born April of 1962 to Anne Marie and Eloy A. Ortiz in San Francisco, California.
Berni is survived by her husband Grant Viehmann; two children: Kayla Kahrs and Jonathan Taylor; Four grandchildren: Autumn, Noah, Aspyn, and Jaxton; her mother Anne Marie Ortiz; and her siblings: Eloy, Noe, Yvonne, and Christine.
Berni was preceded in her death by her father Eloy A. Ortiz and her twin sister Beatrice.
Berni was a lover of life, her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the backbone of her family and will be dearly missed.
Berni's greatest joy came from making memories with her family and fostering a loving environment. Berni's daughter Kayla was her ultimate passion where she devoted and changed her life to be the best mother possible.
Berni loved and forgave deeply. Her free spirit shaped her family and inspired them to courageously stand in truth while seizing the beauty of each day. She lived life to the fullest and demonstrated this to everyone she met.
Berni's heart and passions was centered on serving the San Carlos Apache reservation in Globe, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating toward this mission at https://abidingministriesaz.com to continue her legacy.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
