Scott Soley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Mar. 17, 2026.
Scott Anthony Soley was born October 14, 1962, in Everett, WA and passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 63. He leaves behind his wife Wendy, daughters Rachel (husband Leo), Emma (husband Drew), and his sister Kimberly (husband Dave) along with a niece, several nephews and brothers-in-law.

Scott spent his early years in Everett with his parents, Dave and Marion Soley and his sister Kimberly. They moved to Bellevue a few years later and he finished his schooling there, and later graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Scott was an Accounting Major and a CPA working a few years in public accounting. He was employed as an accountant for various companies and in 2005 became self employed working for one of his former employers until his passing.

Scott was married to Wendy for 37 years and raised their children in Renton, WA. Scott was a devoted husband and father and never missed a school event, swim meet, soccer game, gymnastics meet or basketball game. He adored his daughters. Some of his favorite times were spent vacationing with his family. There were many trips to Disneyland, San Diego, New York, Washington DC, the Oregon Coast, Vancouver, and many more places.

Once their kids graduated from college, it was time for Scott and Wendy to retire to sunny Arizona. In 2019 they moved to Peoria, AZ to an active adult community where they were involved in many clubs and activities. Scott loved the outdoors and was an avid cyclist and hiker. He enjoyed a good glass of zinfandel and was active on the board of the wine club. Bocce was another fun activity he enjoyed and excelled at. He made many good friends in the community and enjoyed the social events that were a big part of living there.

Scott and Wendy traveled extensively. Many trips taken were with good friends. Some of their favorite trips were to Italy, Spain, Croatia, France and England. They also enjoyed various outings to wine countries in California, Oregon and Washington. Cruising was another fun way to travel, and they took many cruises over the years and made many special memories as well.

Scott was one-of-a-kind. He was an incredibly smart, kind, loyal and generous man. He was a good friend to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Mary's Food bank in his name.

Scott's ashes will be spread in a private ceremony in Flagstaff.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday May 2nd at 2:00 pm at Trilogy of Vistancia-Kiva Club: 27980 N. Trilogy Blvd. Peoria, AZ 85383.
