Howard Krasnow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Mar. 12, 2026.
Howard Joel Krasnow died peacefully with his wife, Diana, of 56 years by his side. He was born on May 6, 1942 to Phillip and Gertrude (Gershenowitz) Krasnow in Hartford, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Weaver High School and University of Connecticut. His work life started with Pratt and Whitney in Florida as an aerospace engineer for three years. He worked on the top secret SR71 (spy plane) testing engines. He moved to Phoenix in 1967 where he worked for Air Research that eventually became Honeywell for 34 years doing the same type of work, building and testing commercial and military engines.

He was predeceased by his father Philip Krasnow, his mother Gertrude (Krasnow) Stone and her husband Jack Stone. Howard's beloved son Jeffrey Charles Krasnow and his brother Alan also passed away a few years ago.

He is survived by his loving wife Diana (Cason) Krasnow, his daughter Jami (Andy) Acker, and Stella Szymanski Myrick (his daughter in law) and five grandchildren, the lights of his life: Kimberly Krasnow, Kennen Krasnow, Griffin Krasnow, Melissa Acker and Ryan Acker. His sister Linda Krasnow of Wilbraham, Massachusetts and cousins and nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was a man who, like his mother, loved children and spending time teaching and talking with them.

The family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley (northeast) or Ryan House.

Services will take place on Sunday, March 15th at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ, 85254, followed by a private family burial.
