Berniece Evans Straw passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 surrounded by those who love her. She was born on the 28th of March 1935 to Hugh Alvah Evans and Leaone Maxwell. She was the youngest of 5 siblings.
Berniece lived a life full of love.
She had three amazing daughters, DeNiece, Veon and Michelle, from her first marriage.
In 1969 she met the love of her life, Craig Straw, and they eloped to Las Vegas. The same day seven years later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Craig had three children of his own, Laurie, Randy and Tod. Berniece loved them as if they were her own.
She loved having family parties, the outdoors, snowmobiling, riding the dunes, and camping.
Berniece loved being meticulous. She ironed anything and everything that could be put on an ironing board.
She was also very creative. She made beautiful porcelain dolls, quilts and doorknobs (it's a thing). Holiday decorating was one of her favorite creative outlets. She loved that their home and yard left no doubt what the current holiday was.
After retirement Berniece and Craig spent many years traveling in their motorhome with family and friends. You could find them from Bear Lake to El Centro, CA. She loved coming home just as much as traveling. Home meant she was surrounded by family and friends she loved. She welcomed everyone with open arms and gummy bears.
She loved her Heavenly Father and loved serving Him.
