Mr. Berry Creed Collins, born July 17, 1932, on a mountain top in Wise County, was called to serve in heaven on March 16, 2025.
Berry was a retired United States Air Force disabled veteran who served in Vietnam.
A jack of all trades, it was seldom he wasn’t outside fixing something, hunting, fishing, gardening, or cooking. He loved his gospel music and playing guitar.
Berry is survived by his wife of 71 years, Annie Bell Collins; his son, Bruce Collins, of Cape Charles; his daughters, Annette Campbell, of Cheriton, Donna Wood, of Richmond, and Sharon Lloyd, of Machipongo; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren, his sister, Margaret Nanny, of Big Stone Gap; and his brother, JR Collins, of Haines City, Fla.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore. Greeting will be at 1 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Johnsontown Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Friends and family will commune at the family home at 11368 Sparrow Point Road, Machipongo, VA 23405 after the graveside services.
