Michael King Jolly

Michael King Jolly was born on September 9, 1953 in Raleigh, NC, and was raised in Louisburg,

NC by his parents, Wilbur and Sybil Jolly. King attended high school at Randolph-Macon

Academy, in Front Royal, Virginia, graduating in 1971. He subsequently attended the University

of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and was awarded a BA degree in 1976. While at UNC, King

met and married the love of his life, Carroll Kraycirik from Burlington, NC, with whom he shared

50 years of marriage.

King subsequently attended the UNC School of Pharmacy from 1979 to 1981, transferring to the

University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduating with a Doctorate of

Pharmacy degree in 1983. He subsequently completed a fellowship in clinical research and

drug development jointly sponsored by the UNC School of Pharmacy and Burroughs Wellcome

Co. in 1984. King began employment in 1984 at Burroughs Wellcome Co. King had a successful

and rewarding 40-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, retiring in December 2023.

King is survived by his wife, Carroll K. Jolly; who resides in West Jefferson, NC; his sisters,

Jane Elizabeth Jolly from Louisburg, NC, Linda Redden Kilmon from Exmore, Virginia, and

Bonnie Redden Nordstrom from Belle Haven, Virginia; step-mother, Justine Hicks Jolly of

Zebulon, NC; several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Wilbur and Sybil Jolly from Louisburg, NC, and his brother

James G. Farron from Aguilar, Colorado.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on February 6, 2026 at 11:00am, at Our Lady of the Rosary

Church in Louisburg, NC. The mass will be followed by inurnment at the church columbarium.

The family will receive friends and visitors immediately following the inurnment, with a reception

to be held at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in King's name to an animal

charity, such as ASPCA, Saving Grace Animal Rescue, NC, Dalmatian Rescue, or Pleasant

Valley Donkey Rescue.

The family would like to sincerely thank the excellent care of Visiting Angels and Tameka and

Cora of Tender Loving Care, as well as Transitions Hospice of Wake County.
