Berta Lee Eddy, just two months shy of 102, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.

Berta Lee was born on October 23, 1923 in Mendota, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Adams) Knott. She graduated from Exline High School with the Class of 1941. She graduated with a 2-year degree from Centerville Community College. On May 16, 1942, Berta Lee was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Lincoln Eddy in Unionville, Missouri. To this union, three children were born, Sandra, Rhonda, and Ron.

Berta Lee began teaching in a one room school. She loved numbers and math and it followed her in every job she held throughout her life. Prior to retirement, she was a bookkeeper. She was also a 4-H leader for several years, a member of the Methodist Church and the women's Zoar church group. Her husband, Rob and her belonged to the Saddle Club and loved to square dance.

In her free time, Berta Lee enjoyed bird watching- especially hummingbirds, sewing, reading, watering her flowers, crosswords, cross stitching, and making baby quilts. She loved baking and preparing meals for her family. She always had a dessert sitting around ready if someone stopped by. Berta Lee was a busy body, who rarely sat down. There was always something she wanted to get done.

Left to cherish Berta Lee are her children, Rhonda (Rick) Raskie and Ron Eddy (Lora Jones); son-in-law, Dan Kadel; her brother, Kermit Knott; her grandchildren, Michael Kadel, Lisa Selby, Darrin Kadel, Robert Raskie, Rendy Raskie, Randall Raskie, Cabrin Weaver, Justice Kramer, Drennen Eddy, Xander Jones and Xavier Jones; several great and great-great grandchildren; other extended family; as well as various nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as "Aunt Toots".

Berta Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eddy; her parents, Robert and Grace Knott; her daughter, Sandra Kay Eddy Kadel; her daughter-in-law, Cathie Eddy; her granddaughter, Tamara Serrano; and her siblings, Kenneth Knott, Duane Knott, Roger Knott, and Daunita White-Ash.
