Berta Rodriguez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home - Lewisville on Feb. 7, 2026.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Berta Rodriguez peacefully joined our lord and savior on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the age of 96, surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Rodriguez; her sons Manuel Rodriguez, Jr. and Edward Rodriguez, and her grandson Brian Rodriguez.

She is survived by her daughters Marta (Daniel) Quintana and Margaret (Philip) Rodgers. Her grandchildren include Kimberly (Cliff) Couch, Adam (Victoria) Quintana, Justin (Kelly) Quintana, Jennifer (Justin) Buck, Nicole (Jon) Persinger, and Brian (Erin) Rodgers. She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren.

Berta was born May 20, 1929 in El Paso, Texas where she lived until she moved to Lantana, Texas in 2003. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1946 at the age of 15. Berta retired from the Texas Employment Commission after 31 years of service so that she could dedicate herself to the family whom she loved with all her heart.

A woman of deep faith throughout her life, she attended St. Mark Catholic Church. She began and ended each day with a spiritual fellowship with God. In times of need, family members asked for her prayers, and the Lord listened and answered.

Berta enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and often attended their performances. Quick-witted, she had a charming sense of humor, a feisty temperament, and a keen mind as a result of her skill at dominoes and crossword puzzles.

She was a beautiful soul and we were extremely fortunate the Lord blessed our lives with her presence for 96 years. She will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew her.

Rosary will be Thursday, February 12 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home at 6:00 PM followed by visitation through 8:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday February 14 at 12:00 PM at St. Mark Catholic Church followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
