Bertha Louise Boyd

Bertha Louise Boyd, 67, of Ashland, Kentucky, made her journey home while surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center.

She was born on March 15, 1958, in Tomahawk, Kentucky, to the late Ted "Shorty" Meek and Easter Preece Meek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Connie Oaks Meek, and her fiancé of 10 years, Daniel Click.

Bertha was a member of Ashland Grace Nazarene Church, where she was involved with the Women's Committee. She enjoyed cooking for her family and for anyone in need. She loved her family and grandchildren deeply and was affectionately known as "Nana" to many children. Her loyalty and care for those she loved was unwavering.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Ted (Emily) Stepp of Raceland, KY; stepson, Shane (Rosemary) Boyd of Van Lear, KY; brother, Charles Meek of Tomahawk, KY; sisters, Debra (Joe) Howard of Lowmansville, KY, and Diane (Tony) Adams of Tomahawk, KY. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Elisha Stepp, Jeremiah Stepp, and Isaiah Stepp; adopted grandson, Jaxon Ratliff; and step-grandchildren, Brycen Boyd and Chase Boyd and two dear friends Elizabeth Neely and Betty Sanders who she affectionately called "Ma".

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Ashland Grace Nazarene Church, with Rev. Richard Suman, Rev. Darrell Collings, and Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
