Bertha Lee Britnell, 95, of Moulton, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at NHC of Moulton. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Larry Davis and Todd Appleton officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery.
Born on May 9, 1929 in Franklin County, AL to the late Tom and Mary Gist Allen, Bertha was a member of Owen Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Pete) Kitchens, and Doug (Ann) Britnell; grandchildren, LeAnn Vandermartin, Kristy (Ronnie) Brown, Daniel (Haili McKeever) Kitchens, Jason (Sonya) Britnell, and Misty (Todd) Appleton; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Gresham Britnell; parents; brothers, Tommy Allen, Lester Allen, Arthur Allen, Henry Allen, William "Bill" Allen, and Willard "Bud" Allen; sisters, Delmer Allen Summers, Ruby Allen Miller, Minnie Allen Kimbrough, Mary Lou Allen King, and Modenia Allen Murray.
Pallbearers will be Jason Britnell, Todd Appleton, Tyler Appleton, Daniel Kitchens, Kenley Britnell, Allan Britnell.
The family extends special thanks to DR. Rex Tuckier, Crystal Terry, Elena Clemons, and all the staff members at NHC for all their love and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Alzheimer's research.
