Mrs. Bertha Hatmaker, age 61 of Caryville passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, co-worker, and friend, and will always be remembered for her quiet strength. She was a long-time member of Little Cove Creek Baptist Church, and for over 40 years, served as a devoted employee of the Campbell County Health Department where she made life-long friends. Outside of her work, her greatest joy came from her family—especially her grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, never missing a chance to cheer them on. Whether on the sidelines at a game or sitting on the porch, she found happiness in the simple moments of life. She is preceded in death by father, Carl Daugherty, Sr., and brother, J.R. Daugherty.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Eddie Hatmaker; daughters, Brooke Goins and husband, DeWayne, and Emily Hicks and husband, Chris; her loving grandchildren, Riley, Jonah, Kolton, Jamesyn, and Hadley; mother, Mrs. Mazella Vowell and husband, Edgar; sister, Sherry Wilson and husband, James; special extended daughters, Hannah Echols, Rachel Madron, and Kensey Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, and her Campbell County Health Department family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jeremiah Wilson and Rev. Jacob Hayes officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 9:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 10:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Campbell County Cancer Association, PO Box 122, Jacksboro, TN 37757. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Bertha Hatmaker.
