Beryl Joyce Hepinstall
Beryl Joyce (Barnard) Hepinstall, Joyce to her friends, passed away peacefully into the glory of heaven the early morning of September 27, 2025. She began her final journey home to the Lord much the same as she lived her life, surrounded by loving family.
Born on August 1, 1934, on the family tobacco farm in Fountain Head, Tennessee, the daughter of William Barnard and Audrey (Anderson) Barnard, she was second to the oldest of eight children. Eventually the family moved to Michigan where Joyce was involved with 4-H and went on to mentor young 4-H children into her high school years. Joyce graduated and married her high school sweetheart Jerry V. Hepinstall in 1953, and they had five children together. Sadly, he passed away in 1994.
Joyce maintained her steadfast Christian beliefs and demonstrated that faith in every aspect of her life. A loving mother, sincere friend who truly cared about those around her, she listened to others with interest, respect and was fully engaged in every conversation, every interaction.
Joyce's lifelong interest in sewing led to her career at Rainbow Interiors, where her precision and creativity had a chance to grow as she created fine quilts, draperies and other projects. One of her great accomplishments was having a quilt published in Quilter's World Magazine. That passion for sewing grew and developed as she created and managed her own drapery business and hosted sewing and quilting parties with her friends in her beautiful home sewing center.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, Joyce's legacy of love lives on through her children, Kirk (Theresa) Hepinstall, Candace (Gregory) Rogers, Kris (Linda) Hepinstall, Brian (Jeanie) Hepinstall and Shawn (Paula) Hepinstall, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers Rodney (Anne) Barnard, Lynwood Kirk (Leane) Barnard, sisters Janice Acker, Judith Barnard and Jill (John) Noyes. Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Byron "Bud" (Joanne) Barnard and Blair "Dean" (Anna) Barnard.
As we bid farewell to Joyce, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. We take peace in knowing that she has been welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ her Lord Savior and we celebrate the legacy of love she left behind. Her spirit, like the quilts she crafted with such care, will continue to provide warmth and comfort to all who were touched by her life.
The family would like to give special thanks and gratitude to Martini, Montana, Penny, Jordan and the wonderful care givers and staff at King's Daughter Home.
