Bessie Mae McCrary Brown was born October 30, 1943 in Fort Valley, GA to Turner McCrary and Mary Knight McCrary. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Bessie attended the public schools of Peach County and was later employed at Fort Valley University for 20 years.
At an early age, Bessie joined Richland Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served for over 60 years; she was appointed to the Deaconess Board and tirelessly supported the mission of the church until her illness.
In 1959, Bessie married Robert L. Brown, who preceded her in death, and five children were added to this union - Vivian J. Herndon of Lithonia, GA, Barbara Brown of Lithonia, GA, Joyce Brown of Warner Robins, GA, Robert Brown II (preceded her in death), and Kenneth Brown (preceded her in death).
Brothers and Sisters – Turner McCrary, James McCrary, Donnie McCrary, Ervie Felder, Evelyn Johnson.
Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws – Willie C. Brown, James Brown, Larry (Della) Brown, Obie Brown, Bernice McGhee, Glenda (Eddrick) Bailey, Ashen (Pamela) Stephens, Jimmy (Mary) Stephens, Wade (Vanessa) Stephens, Kelvin Stephens, Lafayetta Stephens, Raymond Stephens, James Stephens, Carl Stephens, Lester Stephens, Eugene (Peronica) Stephens, Ben (Alma) Stephens, Frederick (Selma) Stephens, Mary Pearl Stephens, Gladys (Cain) Aaron, Jestine Dennard and Darlene (Harold) Crawford.
Grandchildren- Kenneth Howard, Robert Brown III (preceded her in death), Damion Brown, Ashley Brown, Kristy Johnson Smith, Kayla Gordon, Nietayia Robinson, Bianca Causey, Kenyatta Brown and Remecia Brown.
Twelve Great-Grandchildren.
And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
