Zachary Allen Eddy, 39, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2025. Born on November 12, 1985, in Effingham to Allen Eddy and Renee Brink, Zachary lived a life defined by courage, compassion, and a deep devotion to those he loved. After graduating high school, Zachary answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He proudly served for nine years at Fort Bragg as a Black Hawk crew chief, a role he took immense pride in. His service reflected the honor, dedication, and bravery that defined his character. He loved his country deeply and never took for granted the opportunity to protect it. Zachary had a passion for motorcycles and found freedom in the open road. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, always cheering on his team with enthusiasm. Those who knew him will remember his big heart, his infectious laugh, and his remarkable ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. Above all, Zachary was a devoted family man. Time spent with his loved ones was what he cherished most. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a loud, laughter-filled gathering, his presence was a source of warmth and joy. Zachary is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret "Meg" Eddy (Williams), who was his rock and greatest love. He is also remembered by his dear parents, Renee and John Brink, Allen and Shirley Eddy; his brothers Jake, Josh, Seth, Noah, and Brody; and his sisters Tiffany, Tricia, Stacey, and Dana. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Zachary's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
