Our beloved Bessie M. Naito passed away quietly on April 8, 2025 at home in Newcastle, WA, under hospice care at the age of 98.

Bessie was a beautiful, intelligent and strong woman who always did her best to represent love, honor, truth, sacrifice, generosity and kindness. She worked hard all her life to provide the best life for her family. She also had a sense of humor and enjoyed being silly.

She had many talents. She was proficient in needlework and made many outfits and gifts; an excellent cook sharing recipes to keep traditions going; and a love of plants and nature made her an avid gardener. She rarely remained idle, using her time to read, crochet, sew, garden, exercise and play with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing role model. Small in stature but she had a big heart and was larger than life in presence.

Family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved her daughters, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, "grand-doggies" and extended family.

Bessie is survived by her daughters Beverly Kosaka (Glenn), Sandy Warner (Marc), granddaughter Heather Bush (Wylie) and great-grandchildren Opal Bush and Glenn Bush.

Her final resting place will be with her husband Tadashi at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.

We will miss her deeply.
