Bessie Louise Tinker (nee Chapman) was born on July 9, 1951, in Valley Park, MO. She was the daughter of proud parents, Melvin Luke Chapman and Terzah May Chapman (nee Coombes), both deceased. Bessie passed away at the age of 74 in Springfield, MO on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Bessie was a kind and curious child, who would go on to work in the healthcare field as a CNA. She married Larry James Tinker on September 18, 1971. Bessie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who always prioritized service and love for others. Her kindness, optimism, and spirit made her beloved by all those lucky enough to know her. Bessie enjoyed holidays, good food, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family, as well as many other interests and hobbies.

She was preceded in death by husband, Larry James Tinker; daughter, Leslie Ann Tinker; and an Infant daughter taken before birth. Bessie's sister, Inez Ent (nee Chapman) and brother, Charles Chapman also preceded her in death, as well as an infant brother, Billy Chapman.

Bessie is survived by daughter, Lisa Marie Tinker and son, Lonnie James Tinker. She leaves behind beloved grandchildren, Lukas Tinker, Alexis Lauritzen, and Lonnie Tinker, Jr.; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends to mourn her passing.

Bessie Tinker was an amazing woman who was loved beyond measure. The world was a much better place with her in it, and she will be loved and missed forever.

Mom had many wonderful caretakers and friends at Springfield Rehab, which eventually became a second family. Mom adored her roommate, Chrissy, and looked out for her like a sister. Mom loved playing Bingo and doing crafts, when she wasn't doing laps in the halls or attending Sunday Church Service. Springfield Rehab nursed Mom back to health after two serious illnesses, so she eventually decided to call it home. Mom lived many happy years there, made (and lost) countless friends, was a role model for us all, and was loved dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO. A celebration of Bessie's life will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2025, at 3 PM.
