I am so surprised and so saddened to find about Beth's passing. She was my very best friend from El Dorado, Arkansas in grade school.
Sending all my sympathy to the Cooper family. I can't imagine how hard this is for each of you. She was always a bright light in my life. I will carry her in my heart always.

Mrs. Cooper was not just an amazing teacher, she was an amazing and caring person. My father died right before I started my senior year at Atkins and Mrs. Cooper was so caring and sweet to me. It's sad to say but I felt like she was the only teacher that understood what I was going through. I never told her how much her kindness and caring meant to me, but she was truly a blessing to me during that time. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Beth was one of the very first friends we had upon arriving in Arkansas. The adventures of Beth and D'Anne in those early years were legendary. I like to think that right now those two are seeing what mischief they can get into. I will miss her funny laugh, sweet smile, good cooking, and English skills. Beth was proofreader for my Ph.D. dissertation.

I am so sorry to hear that Beth passed. Whenever I heard the name, Beth Cooper,I always remembered how thoughtful and helpful she was to me. She was teaching juniors and seniors at Atkins. I was the new teacher teaching juniors and sophomores in the classroom next door. Beth was very busy--her regular classes plus yearbook and newspaper, but she always went out of her way to make me feel as though I had been "next door" for years. She will long be remembered as "the best" that an educator can be.

Beth was precious in the eyes of not only her friends but in the sight of her Lord. She loved her students and it showed from the respect they gave her. She has touched so many lives, especially mine, because I had the pleasure of calling her friend and Sister in Christ. Beth Cooper, you will be missed!!!!

Mrs. Cooper taught me so much more in the classroom than just English. She taught me how to be compassionate for others while doing something I love, which is what she did every day when she was teaching. Mrs. Cooper went above and beyond tonregconize her students, even for her birthday, and i'll never forget it being the very last day of school and she and one other student sang to me by theirselves because Mrs. Cooper never missed a chance to say it's not over until the fat lay sings. She was truly one of the absolute best teachers i've ever had and i owe her for all the knowledge I learned from her. She will be very deeply missed.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Beth's friends and family. Besides the myriad band classes, practices, trips and other activities we shared, Beth and I were good friends in high school. One summer, about 15 or 20 of us band students rode bicycles from Beth's house to Lake Calion, just because, but it was her idea. She brought me homemade mints when I was selling Christmas trees outside at Woolco Dept. Store and freezing. I didn't have the heart to tell her I didn't like mints, I just told her the truth, and told her they were the best mints I had ever had, and they were. However, more than once, she baked me delicious cookies and let me know they were made from scratch. She was a good enough friend that when my ship was in Mayport, FL and Beth was going to a college in south Florida, I rode a bus for 6 hours to visit her. Beth was the one that asked if the other graduating classes could join the little get together for the 75 seniors I was planning, which turned out to be the monumental 2000 band reunion. Big dummy me, I wouldn't have thought of asking the other classes. Rarely did I ever see her without a smile and she was always positive around me. Even the last time I saw her, she masked how sick she really was. Beth, you will be missed.

Mrs. Cooper-- what an astounding lady. She truly taught me more than just English, she taught me about being a strong woman. She was witty, she was intelligent, she was poised, and she was classy. She was truly a rare breed and I was so graced by the way she impacted my life. Thank you, Mrs. Cooper, for everything you taught me. Thank you for your encouragement and for believing in me even when I refused to believe in myself. Thank you for showing me the woman I want to be. I will never forget you.

I have to say, this really is especially sad for me. I have been tremendously blessed in my life to have had some really good teachers who really made a difference in my life....But a few went beyond that...There are a few that I really give credit for altering who I would become in life, made me more successful than I ever would have been without them, and overall just made such a positive impact in my life.....these are the great ones.
Beth Cooper was a Great one. For some reason, she saw something in me...She didn't accept excuses...She knew just when to praise and just when to role her eyes at me and let me know that what I had given her wasn't close to my best. She helped me through losing a friend...A tough thing to do at 17. She nominated me for awards, both state wide and national...She also sent me to sunrise detention....but "forgot" to send the slip to the office so that I would still get to go to Boys State (She really pulled a great joke with that one).
I first had Mrs. Cooper in 10th grade and before my Senior year was over I would have her for a total of 5 classes. I'll never forget the day she told me that I was going to be the Editor of the RHS Newspaper...I just laughed and said "not a chance," and now in hind site I realize it was a tremendous experience for me.
I have always said that having the ability to write really well is one of the best traits you can have in business....To effectively communicate your thoughts to an audience...Its a tough skill to master, and I feel like Mrs. Cooper got me as close as I could ever get.
The world lost a great one today.
RIP Mrs. Cooper, you've earned it.
