Beth Young Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 16, 2025.
Beth Ellen Young, age 61, of Chanhassen, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Beth was born on July 7, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, to James and Edna Lyons. She grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where she graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1982.
Beth married the love of her life, Dana Young, in 1987, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They raised two children, Joshua (35) and Molly (28), who she cherished above all else.
A dedicated and hardworking public servant, Beth spent 13 years with Olmsted County while living in St. Charles, Minnesota, before the family moved to Chanhassen in 2001. For nearly 25 years, she served faithfully as a legal assistant at the Carver County Attorney's Office, where she was respected for her professionalism, kindness, and dedication to her work.
Beth will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and caring spirit. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and neighbors, and her compassion and strength left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Lyons, and her sister, Marsha Lyons. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dana; her children, Josh and Molly; her brother, Paul Lyons; and many dear friends who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at Westwood Community Church (3121 Westwood Dr, Excelsior, MN 55331) on Monday, November 3rd. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m

Dana, Josh and Molly,
It is hard for me to believe we have lost our beautiful Bethy. I loved her dearly. She was very special and a true friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor and we had so many good times. I think about the camping trips, sitting around bonfires, going to Susie´s Roadhouse, get together´s, casino trips and the list goes on and on. I missed you all so much when you moved to Chanhassen. I am so grateful we got together to meet your new puppy and got caught up on everything. Dana, life just is not gonna be the same without her. Always so happy, always smiling, always so caring. What a light in this world. Josh and Molly, you meant everything to her. She loved you all so dearly. She fought this cancer long and hard. I know she is at peace in the arms of our Lord. She will be missed greatly and her memory will be cherished.
Orv and I love you all and we grieve along with you. Please know how very sorry we are. Bethy was a blessing. May God bless her and each of you.
