Bethanne Lynn (Rafferty) Hall, 61, of
Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2025 after bravely battling ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Lou Gehrig's Disease, for the past year. Her positive attitude and warrior strength in facing this crippling disease will forever be an inspiration to us all. Bethanne taught us to "do it now, because you can," and when there are no words, that the twinkle in your eyes will shine true.
She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and leader whose light touched so many. We all love her very much and will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Greg (Francis Gregory) Hall, father Florn P "Wedge" Rafferty of Rensselaer, IN, sisters Diane (Donald) DeBlock of Osceola, IN, and Brenda Yadav of Scottsdale, AZ; loving nieces and nephews Eric Heitzinger of Chicago, IL, Liz Heitzinger of Grand Haven, MI, Christopher (Allison) DeBlock of Granger, IN, and Isabella Yadav of Scottsdale, AZ Bethanne was predeceased in death by her mother, Marietta (Latoski) Rafferty.
Born on December 5, 1963 in South Bend, IN, she grew up in Rensselaer, IN, and graduated from Rensselaer Central High School, Class of 1981. She was a "City Girl" at heart, moving to Chicago to experience new adventures. Bethanne loved meeting new people, hearing their stories and connecting with their lives.
Bethanne and Greg were married on November 2, 1991, in Northbrook, IL. They made their home in Chicago, IL, Riverside, IL, Hawthorn Woods, IL and found their forever home in
Nashville, TN in 2022.
Professionally, Beth was an inspiration, having started as a receptionist with pharmaceutical ad agency Abelson Taylor in Chicago in 1987 when the company had 30 employees. Over the years, she led the digital revolution at the company, managing multiple departments while growing to 500 people. Because of the company's growth, she coordinated and managed several pilot programs for Apple and Microsoft to test new products under actual working conditions. She continued to embrace technology even while battling ALS as she was using an eye gaze app and voice banking on her iPad to communicate.
In 2003, her leadership, work ethic and dedication led her to purchase an ownership stake in the company. Over the years she never forgot how she was mentored by the heart and soul of the company, Marvin Abelson, and paid it forward by mentoring numerous young employees who would go on to have successful careers both inside and outside the company.
After 31 years, Beth retired in 2018 to pursue her other passions, including traveling the world with Greg.
She loved deep diving into the locals and their culture, often befriending them and asking for advice on where to eat and find the most authentic experiences outside of the mainstream tourist spots.
Some of her favorite places in the world included Costa Rica, Morocco, Bali and Cambodia.
While local art, music, architecture and crafts were always a point of interest, good food made her smile the most. Whether it was street food in Thailand, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Singapore or a slice of key lime pie in the Keys, she loved a good meal and a story to go along with it. Most of all she loved Greg's homemade gumbo...and Singapore Slings!
Beth loved a spirited conversation and embraced a "live and let live" approach to people with differing viewpoints. Her empathy, analytical and problem-solving skills often led to friends and family seeking her advice. The love and care she used to embrace these interactions was her superpower.
Beth was a cherished dog mom to Dixie, Delta, Mabellene, Giblet, Violet and Ruby. She loved motorcycling, sunsets with the Green Flash, and driving over the speed limit in a convertible. She was a voracious reader of everything from the Bill of Rights to historical fiction and autobiographies of her favorite artists. She also was a true fan girl of Formula One racing boasting an impressive knowledge of racing strategy (thanks to her father) and the inner workings of the various teams. She believes to this day that Lewis Hamilton was cheated out of his 8th consecutive world championship.
Most importantly, Beth loved her family and friends.
She will be forever loved and greatly missed.
A memorial service and joyful celebration of Beth's life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am, immediately followed by a Service from 11 am to Noon at the Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike,
