Bethany Jo Prekop

Bethany Jo Prekop, 41, beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on December 13, 2025, due to the internal damage alcoholism caused to her body. She will be forever missed.

Bethany was born on July 13, 1984, in Duluth, MN to Duane and Debbie Johnson. Along with her twin sister, Courtney, she graduated from Hermantown High School in 2003.

While the past few years have been hard, we remember a Beth who was bubbly and funny and loved her boys beyond measure. We loved her so much and are thankful for the many good memories we have of her and of her faith in Jesus. Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angel nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Beth is preceded in death by her dad, Duane Johnson.

She is survived by her precious sons, Bridger and Weston Prekop; her mother, Debbie Johnson; brother, Jeff (Anna) Johnson; sister, Aimee (Aaron) Balsam; best friend and twin, Courtney (Shawn) Johnson; and her beloved nephews and nieces.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Covenant Park Bible Camp, Mahtowa, MN.
