Betsey Sue Hedrick

1975 - 2025

Betsey Sue Hedrick, 50, of Glendive, MT, met her heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Glendive Evangelical Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Robert Canen officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with arrangements.

Betsey was born on February 21, 1975, in Bozeman, MT, the daughter of Vince and Darlene (Cook) Guhin. She graduated with the Belgrade High School Class of 1993. In 1995 she completed an associate's program at the Culinary Institute in Portland, OR.

Betsey married Phil Hedrick in 1999, and in 2008, they welcomed their son, Sam, whose presence reshaped Betsey's world. Motherhood became her greatest joy-whether she was cheering at his baseball games, helping with school projects, or teaching him family recipes.

Betsey's circle extended far beyond her home. In 2014 she was elected to the Glendive City Council, where she served faithfully for 11 years. Known for her steady voice, she combined conviction with compassion, always balancing firm principles with a willingness to listen. Her absence will be deeply felt by the Glendive community.

Betsey was preceded in death by her father, Vince Guhin; grandparents, George and Alice Cook and Howard and Gladys Guhin; and her faithful dog, Ringo.

She is survived by her husband, Phil, and their son, Sam; her mother, Darlene Guhin; her sisters, Emily (Scott) Eaton, Amy (Michael) McAuliffe, and Merry (Seth) Halverson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.

The Hedrick family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Joan Dickson for the care she provided to Betsey through these most difficult days.
