Betsy was born on July 11, 1951 in Pittsburgh and raised in Sharpsburg Pa. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert A. Jacobs and Sophie (Costantini). Betsy is survived by her loving husband James W. Carr of 52 years and her two sons Sean (Alana) and Jason (Kristen) and her two grandchildren Siena and Brooks. She is also survived by her two siblings Jake (Rena) and Mary Denise and many nieces and nephews.
Deeply devoted to both her family and faith, Betsy loved her grandchildren more than words can say. She especially loved taking them to estate sales and spending time together. She took great pride in decorating her home and always made it feel so special and warm for each and every holiday. She was a truly loving soul that will be sorely missed.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1 at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona on Thursday, November 2nd at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at The Verona Cemetery, Oakmont.

Betsy was a caring and wonderful friend to me. I appreciated her so much as a kind and loving person. Saw her and Jimmy at TJMax one day. My condolences to Jimmy and sons and grandchildren.

I remember Betsy teaching us how to dance, babysitting us, and going to Wildwood with us! She was the best. Hey Jim, so sorry to you and the family for your loss.

It was 5th grade at St Marys Sharpsburg. Our teacher Miss Kruth wanted to know everyone's birthday. When it came to July, Betsy and I both stood up and discovered we were born on the same day. That day we became best friends and have been for the last 62 years.. I lost my best friend. Love You Bets. Maxine

Betsy will be remembered by everyone who knew her with a smile on her face, a gentle laugh and only kind things to say. She was just fun to be with. The world is a better place for her being here.
