Betsy Laurel Johnson

Betsy Laurel Johnson was born on Sunday, July 16, 1995, in Boone, Iowa. She was the second daughter born to Craig and Laurel while we were serving in our first church.

Betsy attended Turtle Bay Elementary School and Shasta High School in Redding, California. She graduated from Biola University in 2016 with a BA in Cinema and Media Arts. She worked as a videographer, editor, and creative director on dozens of projects.

Betsy was known for her creativity and curiosity, never afraid to try something new, and she loved to share what she created or discovered with her family and friends.

Betsy always challenged herself, whether by competing in sports, playing the violin and trumpet, performing in musicals, or running marathons. She pursued everything she set her mind to with an infectious energy and enthusiasm.

Betsy will be remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her for the joy she brought to their lives and the blessing she was to them.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Merle Johnson; grandmother, Jane Carlson; and cousin, Olivia Johnson. She is survived by her parents, Craig and Laurel Johnson; two siblings, Hayley (Justin) Hansen and Carl Johnson; grandmother, Charlene Johnson; grandfather, Bruce Carlson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her.

Betsy Johnson, age 30, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at her home in Chicago, IL.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Bethel Church, 2702 30th Ave S, Fargo, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Betsy's burial will take place in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
