Bette passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2024, at the age of 98. She was born on April 14th, 1926 to Della Mauss and Harvey Walton at their home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bette married Thomas J. Derbidge, August 19th, 1943, they spent 71 devoted years together.
Growing up during the great depression, shaped her outlook, making her practical and hardworking. She passed her hardworking and practical attitude to her children. Bette was a farm girl at heart and grew almost everything in her garden. She was also an animal lover and had nearly every kind of pet you can imagine. Her family always came first. She enjoyed time with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bette is survived by her children, Shauna Jeffery, Thomas Craig Derbidge (Cathie), Brenda Derbidge-Hill (Gary) ; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and her beloved sister Doreen Hillestad.
A celebration of Bette’s life will be held at a later date.
